Drananda Summons is the future of music. As we sit and discuss his derivation of sound creativity, we learn about his solidarity in soul music. Drananda Summons is currently performing live during his Cold Tour 23’. What does your musical past consist of?

My musical past derives from gospel. Having the experience of playing drums and singing in the church, gave me that innate sense to flow in my musical ability, and develop confidence. Also learned to create eclectic sounds in impromptu environments.

I listened to Motown Artists including Artists such as Teddy Pendergrass, Luther Vandross, Aretha Franklin, Al Green, Olivia Newton John, Whitney Houston, Abba, Sheena Easton, Diana Ross, Beyonce, Brent Faiyaz, Billy Ocean, James Ingram, Patti LaBelle, Patti Austin, Quincy Jones, Barry White, The Jackson Family, The Carpenters, Brian McKnight, Sister Sledge, James Cleveland, Walter Hawkins, Edwin Hawkins, Shirley Miller, Yvette Flunder, Tremaine Hawkins, Lynette Hawkins Stephens, The Beatles, The Temptations, The Bee Gees. Just to name a few inspirational artists that molded my sound.
