Drananda Summons has decided to give fans insight into previous music projects. Sir Summons is Drananda’s latest EP release. Drananda looks forward to releasing a new EP project in 23’.
What does Sir Summons EP mean? Does it have any significance/relevance on a larger scale?
My latest project was released as an Ep on August 21 and is titled, Sir Summons. This was the first project where my face is on the album art cover.
I wanted to allow this to be my introduction to the world because prior I wanted all of my music projects to be just about the sound, only about the music, only about what you hear.
I didn’t want people to attach a face or a strong idea of me, I just wanted it to be about the music. So what made this project so significant, is that I had my face on it. I was so nervous after I recorded the Sir Summons EP that I was sick when I got home. I battled with myself asking “Is this the right thing for me to do? should I just stay incognito” but something came over me and I felt the need just to push forward.
As a Black Artist, I believe many times we limit ourselves due to fear or doubt and I want it to not only present good music but also inspire young Black Artists who may look like me or Come from similar struggles.
Sir Summons is an introduction to mainstream Drananda Summons but also to the royal legacy that I plan on living out in a sovereign and impactful manner. My music has to represent life Sir Summons Ep represents life and the core of what we go through in love, heartbreak, heartache, situation trials, tribulations even in toxic love.
Sir Summons EP is also a vulnerable project because I discuss situations in the songs that stem from injustice, insecurities, toxicity, and pain but also it presents understanding, unity, love, sensuality, belief, strength, and even a reality check.
